Work Wires, Towing Wires and Pennant Wire

KTL Offshore use the World’s most recogniseable brands
of steel wire rope such as Usha Martin and Kiswire.

All wire rope is manufactured to the ANSI/API 9A (2004)
and ISO 10425 (2003) combined specification for offshore
wire rope, and is supplied with mill and third party certification,
such as ABS, LR or DNV.

For towing we recommend the 6x36 wire rope construction for
most sizes. However, as the wire rope size increases, so the number
of wires may be increased to retain some of the flexibility in the rope.  

Standard grades such as EIPS and EEIPS can be supplied, but the high
tensile grades such as Usha Martins’s Super Titan and Kiswire’s
Alpha grades are also available.

Our rigging facilities are capable of manufacturing almost any end termination and fitting required for OSV operations. At KTL Offshore, every single sling purchased from us is manufactured at our own facility.

Steel wire rope slings may be have one, two, three, four or five legs. The five legged version is mostly used for container lifting slings according to DNV 2.7-1.

They can be made with either aluminium turnback eyes or Flemish eyes, and may be supplied either with soft or hard eyes. Hooks and shackles may be fitted as required. The entire assembly is tested and certified at our test centre in Singapore.

Quality Control

Our slings go through an intensive testing programme which includes visual inspection and proof load testing. Load testing is done on a batch testing basis, in accordance with the latest international practice and standards.

Worldwide Delivery

KTL Offshore will arrange the transportation and necessary documentation to deliver wire ropes to virtually any location Worldwide, with project management services included.

Added Value

We operate a fleet of constant-tension spooling machines and a Technical Services department that is dedicated to providing offshore services including installation of wire rope. We can install wire rope reels with an individual weight of up to 120t.
